Detectives Apprehend Suspect in May Shooting Incident

Springfield, Ore. – On May 19th, 2022, Springfield Police Department Officers responded to the 4400 block of Holly Street in Springfield regarding a shooting incident.

 

 

Officers located a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. He was provided medical treatment and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers and Detectives processed the scene and were able to locate evidence identifying the suspect as Justin Lamar Floyd.

 

 

On August 11th, 2022, Detectives received information on Floyd’s whereabouts. After several hours of observation, Floyd was seen leaving a residence and driving away from the location. Detectives conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and were able to take Floyd into custody without incident. Floyd was lodged at the Lane County Jail for Assault I.
